Primary use of this layer is for asset management and work order tracking within DPW’s new Asset Management System (Trimble Unity Maintain). Backflow Prevention Devices prevent contaminated water from flowing back up the pipe into clean water. Data was extracted from existing asset data contained in LA County DPW’s outgoing Maintenance Management System. Data was then updated and verified by the Building Crafts Superintendent and Senior Civil Engineer from the Operational Services Division.

Notable attribute fields include:

CW_ASSETID: Active Unique identifiers for each asset, utilized in Trimble Unity Maintain Asset Management System.

FAC_NAME: Represents which facility the asset is located in (If applicable)

STATUS: Represents working status of the feature.

ACTIVE: This value is used for features currently active and in use.

ABANDONED: This value is used for features no longer in use and now abandoned

IN CONSTRUCTION: This value is used for approved features currently in construction

INACTIVE: This value is used for features that are currently inactive and unused

PROPOSED: This value is used for features that are proposed but not yet approved for construction

UNKNOWN: Status of the feature is currently unknown.

DESCRIPTION: Describes model, serial number, and address of feature.

DEVTYP: Type of prevention device (Double Check Valve, Pressure Vacuum Breaker, etc.)

INSTALLTYP: What type of system the device is installed in.

Last updated or update frequency: 2026

Loaded May 2026 per Ticket #256137

|
