Description: A town council is a democratically elected form of government for small municipalities or civil parishes. A council may serve as both the representative and executive branch. Boundaries are provided from individual Town Councils and have varying degrees of accuracy (some of which are noted in the "DRP - NOTES" field). Please click herefor a list of all Town Councils and other Community Groups (not all on this list are mapped).UPDATE HISTORY:1/13/15 - updated schema, and incorporated latest requested changes from Castaic Town Council.5/17/16 - added previously un-mapped groups of Michillinda, San Canyon, West Ranch, Hacienda Heights, Workman Mill and updated Rowland Heights boundary (still had Diamond Bar annexation).4/12/18 - added Fairmont Town Council based on online map.5/31/18 - updated all Antelope Valley Town Council boundaries to better match city boundaries and delete sliver overlaps.3/27/19 - added several Town Councils and other Community Groups based on work with the Equity Project. Deleted Quartz Hill per request from Board office on 1/2019.4/1/19 - added a group in Viewpark, and updated Ladera Heights.5/28/19 - updated Del Aire for detachment. Effective 5/16/19, and a link to the official LAFCO annexation document is here.6/26/19 - Added Pearblossom TC.7/1/19 - Cut Sun Village per Assessor 'Situs Address' dissolved layer for that community name. Also edited Roosevelt to remove overlap area with Lake Los Angeles.1/26/22 - updated the Twin Lakes Property Owners Association boundary through the zoning conflation project to follow the updated parcels along the southern border.12/21/22 - updated for Reorganization (Tesoro Del Valle) between Santa Clarita and Santa Clarita Valley. Effective on 11/14/22.
